Applications for water sales in the updated Tamar Irrigation Scheme have opened, providing 13,500 megalitres of water to farmers in Northern Tasmania. The $165 million project aims to better align with regional demand after a previous version failed to meet the viability threshold. GO.FARM Head of Farmland Development Joe Barlow said, “Without the water through this valley, we’re not able to do what you can see behind us. The TI scheme is going to allow us to continue developing.”
