New data reveals Australia’s billion-dollar almond industry is expanding faster than thought

Australia’s almond industry continues to experience strong growth, with plantings increasing by more than 13% over the past three years to almost 71,000 hectares. Expansion has been particularly significant in the NSW Riverina, Victoria’s Goulburn Valley and South Australia’s Riverland, driven by strong global demand, investment in new growing regions such as Go.FARM’s Goulburn Valley developments, and a growing adoption of self-fertile almond varieties to improve pollination resilience.
